This was a great little book. After I finished it I handed it to my 12 year old telling her to read it that she would like it. I loved this book because the characters (including the horses) were all unique and not stereotypical of people that work with horses. Having grown up on a farm Midnight was beautifully developed reminding me in many was of Strawberry a horse I knew when I was younger.

I also liked that this book was not continually filled with the usual young adult violence or having girls and boys constantly chasing one another. It touched on themes of growing up and crushes but not in an extreme way which was VERY refreshing. It is a book I am not afraid to let my daughter read.
